
This year we raised nearly $15,000 and are donating the proceeds to social service agencies. The charity organizations will be chosen in September. This is a wonderful way to help the environment by recycling your items, providing items some people may not be able to afford otherwise, and to raise money for social service agencies. The charity organizations will be chosen in September by the Social Action Committee.
Rummage sale has a three-fold Mission
- To raise money for Human Services, Environmental and Social Justice agencies that serve populations within the communities of our church members. Charitable organizations are nominated by church members and then awarded grants from the net proceeds.
- To provide gently used and new items at affordable prices for people who can use them.
- To reduce the volume and impact of functional items ending up in our landfills.
In the process, the sale provides opportunities for:
- Spiritual growth and putting our UU Principles into action.
- Building beloved community and strengthening our connection to NSUC during the summer months.
- Creating and strengthening individual friendships.
- Simplifying our lives by disposing of and/or acquiring items.
- Helping the environment.
- Matching post sale items with agencies that can use the items.
- Having Fun!
