Children's Music Ministry

At North Shore Unitarian Church, we see music as a fundamentally spiritual experience. Music ties us to our tradition and community and invites us to celebrate the blessings and wonder of life. The music we learn as children stays with us our entire lives, uplifting us in difficult times and helping celebrate life’s greatest joys. Our Children’s Music Ministry sees music as transformative, a way for students to explore their Unitarian Universalist faith and understand our rich musical heritage.

Junior Choir and Next Step Junior Choir

Our Junior Choir Program seeks to develop our student’s spirituality through the exploration of music. Students learn a variety of sacred music, including hymns, gospel music, and folk songs, which are used to teach universal themes of Unitarian Universalism and religious faith.

Led by Director Hannah K. Andersen, the Junior Choir and Next Step Jr. Choir share music with the congregation at a variety of special services, including our March of the Goblins Celebration, Harvest Festival, Christmas Eve, Martin Luther King Day, and Easter Sunday.

Junior Choir is offered from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The Next Step Jr. Choir, for more serious singers, meets on Sundays from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m.
